Co-hosted by Hillfield Strathallan College & Appleby College

Wednesday April 3rd (evening) through Saturday April 6th

  • Meet others of all ages across Canada working on climate action in schools
  • Learn practical, innovative new ways to solve school climate challenges
  • Build your skills and knowledge
  • Get inspired
  • Grow your network
  • Contribute to this growing community of practice focusing on hope-filled, whole-school climate action

Anyone working at, learning in or supporting elementary and secondary schools, including:

  • students
  • teachers and teacher support
  • administrators
  • facilities & operations personnel
  • board members
  • parents
  • non-profit leaders
  • other adult allies supporting school climate action

This event will model climate positive event practices through all aspects of the event, including food, transportation, materials, and event logistics. Our goals are:

1. To produce the most low-impact event possible.

2. To co-create a guide for leading practices in event planning with our participants, suppliers, and event hosts, which will be published after the event for all to use.

What is an “unconference”?

An unconference is a participant-centred event with a focus on interaction, experiential learning and collaboration. In April, the emphasis will be on creating learning opportunities for groups who don’t usually learn or “conference” together, including students, teachers, parents, administrators and more – a truly intergenerational gathering.
