We have developed all these resources for the schools participating in our Climate Action Accelerator Program. We are also openly sharing these in the hopes that other schools and districts will find them useful. We strongly believe that this is no time for proprietary information and password-protected webpages – we must all put our best efforts forward and share our learning. The Strategic Framework For High-Impact, Whole-School Climate & Nature Action
This framework is the foundation for the Climate Action Accelerator Program. This new version, released in January 2025 reflects 3 years working with over 20 schools. It provides a systems-based approach to developing a whole-school climate action plan for a school community. It is based on four dimensions – a Compelling Vision , Organizational Culture, Collective Learning, and Physical Place. The framework is set in the context of growing climate and biodiversity crises, along with the many intersecting social justice crises of our time.
Across the four dimensions there are twelve strategies to help successfully create and implement a high-impact, whole-school climate and nature action plan. The strategies can be combined to meet the unique needs of each school at different stages along their journey to a just, beautiful, thriving future for all.
